Summer Program at ROTH: 18 Children Build Solar-Powered Wooden Cars

Hands-On Technology for the Next Generation: Discover Automation Technology Through Play

On August 7, the ROTH Group welcomed 18 children from the community to its summer program. Our students and interns showed the young visitors just how fascinating automation technology can be.

Using our LEGO model, Julian vividly explained what the ROTH Group does and why automation is indispensable in modern production. Then it was time to get creative: Each child built their own solar-powered wooden race car and decorated it to their own taste—resulting in 18 colorful, one-of-a-kind creations.

Youth Development in Action

Summer programs like this are more than just recreational activities—they are investments in the future. When children experience at an early age just how exciting technology and automation can be, it sparks their interest in technical careers. Through this initiative, the ROTH Group demonstrates that automation technology isn’t abstract and inaccessible, but rather concrete, understandable, and above all: fun.
