ROTH Christmas Donation

“Donate Instead of Giving Gifts” for Accessible Communication

A grant as a sign of social responsibility

Once again this year, ROTH is forgoing Christmas gifts and has decided to make donations instead. This year’s Christmas donation will benefit the Mosbach Workshops run by Johannes Diakonie.

What is the donation used for?

People with disabilities should have easier access to information. This is often made difficult by the sheer volume and complexity of the information provided. The donation will now make it possible to purchase accessible information systems, CABito , which uses an adjustable screen to make content accessible to everyone. The new system will be able to provide personalized information, images, and even voice output to meet the individual needs of workshop employees. Height-adjustable systems allow wheelchair users, as well as people of all heights, to easily access the desired information on the screen.

Regarding the financial contribution from ROTH, Sven Schüßler, director of the Mosbach Workshops, says:

“We are incredibly grateful for this support.” Thanks to the donation from ROTH, the traditional “bulletin board” can now soon be replaced by a CABito. “With the new system, we can make our communication significantly more modern, accessible, and effective. In the future, the content will be created and maintained by employees from the workshop.”

Approximately 340 people with intellectual and/or physical disabilities work in the two workshop buildings in Mosbach. The workshops offer employment opportunities in the following areas:

  • in the area of work and workshop transfers
  • in the small educational groups at the day support center
  • during assembly
  • in electrical installation
  • in metal machining
  • in the areas of packaging and order picking
  • in gardening and landscaping
  • Mailing and Shipping Tasks
  • as well as in document destruction

Ellen Roth at the donation ceremony and tour of the Mosbach Workshops:

“In an increasingly digitized and, as a result, fast-paced world, access to modern technologies and information plays a crucial role in creating equal opportunities. With this donation, we want to demonstrate our commitment to society.”
